Privacy Policy
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to all visitors and users of code.uplex.de (collectively, the “Website” or “Websites”), which are offered by UPLEX - Nils Goroll Systemoptimierung (“UPLEX” or “we” or “us”). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using any part of this Website, you acknowledge you have been informed of and consent to our practices with regard to your personal information and data.
This site exists for publishing open source projects and collaboration in a developer community. This means that many portions of this Website, including information you voluntarily provide, will be public-facing for the open sharing of innovative developments, ideas, and information. If you do not want to share your information, including personally identifiable information, with other community members and the public, please be thoughtful as to how you interact with our Websites and what information you provide through this Website (for example, through creating a public profile, project contributions, comments, and blog posts).
This site uses the GitLab Community Edition.
What Information code.uplex.de Collects and Why
Information from Website Visitors
Like most website operators, this Website collects basic non-personally-identifying information from visitors of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. We collect this information to better understand how visitors use the Website, to improve the Website and the experience for visitors, and to monitor security of the Website.
This Website also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from visitors. We do not use such information to identify or track individual visitors, however. We collect this information to understand how visitors use the Website, to improve performance and content, and to monitor security of the Website.
This Website may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors. For instance, we may reveal how many downloads a particular version got using aggregated statistics that contain anonymous user information only.
Comparing to a default installation of the GitLab Community Edition, we have reduced the amount of logging collected.
Usage Data Information sent to GitLab
By default, GitLab collects information about usage from each self-hosted GitLab instance like this one through a usage ping. We have opted out of sending this usage information to GitLab, but need to trust GitLab that the opt-out is respected.
Personally-Identifying Information
Users of the Website may choose to interact in ways that provide us with their personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that we gather depends on the nature of your interaction with us, as well as the amount of information you choose to share. We will collect the information you provide with us in connection with creating an account on the Website. Profile information is shared publicly, as well as activity under your profile and the date your profile was created.
Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent you from engaging in certain Website-related activities or being able to access and use certain features and services.
Information we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, such as social security numbers, genetic data, health information, or religious information. Although we do not request or intentionally collect any sensitive personal information, we realize that users might store this kind of information in a repository. If you store any sensitive personal information on our servers, you are consenting to our storage of that information on our servers, which are located in Germany.
If you're a child under the age of 13, you may not have an account on the Website. We do not knowingly collect information from or direct any of our Website or content specifically to children under 13. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a user is under the age of 13, we will close the child’s account.
Bases for Processing Your Information
We use your information for our legitimate interests, such as for administrative, security, fraud prevention and legal purposes.
How We Use and Protect Personally-Identifying Information

We will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to our employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations, as described above, we disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of us, third parties, or the public at large.
We take measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
International Transfer of Information
The Website is hosted in Germany and information we collect will be stored and processed on our servers in Germany. We will not transfer any information of this Website to outside Germany other than implied by use of its functions by users.
